Role Description

An exciting and varied role working within the marketing team and reporting to co-founder Kai Feller. This role offers the chance for rapid progression within a fast growing, dynamic business.

Bark operates across thousands of categories - helping buyers find everything from a web designer to a personal trainer.

Your role will be to research each category using a variety of methods and sources to build a solid understanding within the business of each market we operate in. This will include:

  • Working with our business analysts to review Bark’s own data about suppliers and historic activity on the platform
  • Find external data such as market research reports, statistics and insights
  • Conducting surveys and talking to Bark’s own supplier base
  • Talking to the wider community of suppliers in each market
  • Understanding key factors in each market such as:
    • The margin made by suppliers on different types of jobs
    • How suppliers in each market currently get new business and find leads and their cost of acquisition
    • How well supplied each market is by suppliers and if there’s a shortage or an oversupply
    • How much competing services charge for leads.

You’ll then work with the team to:

  • Set pricing for the different types of leads we offer to suppliers
  • Set the questions we ask buyers to define their lead with respect to making the lead as valuable as possible for the sellers
  • Deliver solid ‘on the ground’ understanding and insights into the different categories Bark operates in to the business
  • Work with the team on content such as sales material, support material and emails to make sure it is relevant to suppliers in that category

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in a marketing or business related subject
  • At least 2 years proven work experience
  • Business quality communication skills - both oral and written
  • Data driven and numerate

It's a great time to join Bark - we have found product market fit, a successful business model, and have built out the necessary tools to scale. We’re looking for hungry, smart individuals to take on huge areas of responsibility in the company and the potential to grow with us.
